释义	代理人簽署 The signature of an agent; when taken with the words of a contract or words added to the signature, it can have a variety of effects. If the signature is representative of the person signing in the capacity of agent, no personal liability accrues. Examples of such accompanying phrases are ‘as agents’, ‘on behalf of’, ‘for’ and ‘on account of’: Universal Steam Navigation Co Ltd v James McKelvie & Co [1923] AC 492 (HL); Dragages et Travaux Publics & Ors v Gladhover Ltd & Anor [1988] 1 HKLR 298 (CA). However, where the accompanying phrase is descriptive solely, for example ‘as purchaser’, personal liability may arise: Universal Steam Navigation Co Ltd v James McKelvie & Co, supra. In relation to the liability of a person signing as an agent or in a representative capacity: Bills of Exchange Ordinance (Cap 19) ss 26, 26A.
