The answer must relate to the matters in issue in the pleadings. Answers must be in writing and verified. Answers in the interrogatories must be given to the best of the knowledge, information, and belief of the interrogated party, which may require the party to make inquiries of employees and agents: Bolckow, Vaughan & Co v Fisher (1882) 10 QBD 161 (CA). Objection to answering interrogatories may be based on relevance, oppression, or privilege: O 25 r 5(1). Where an answer is insufficient, the court may order further answers or permit the other side to examine the interrogated party on oath as to the sufficiency of his or her answer: O 25 r 5(2). 對另一方的回答質詢通知書的回應，可以誓章形式作出：《高等法院規則》（第4A章）第26號命令第2(2)條規則。答覆須針對狀書中的爭議點，並以書面作出及核實。被質詢人須以所知及所信回覆，有需要時要向僱員或代理人作出查詢：Bolckow, Vaughan & Co v Fisher (1882) 10 QBD 161（英國上訴法院）。反對答覆質詢書，可以基於恰切性、壓逼或特權等理據：第25號命令第5(1)條規則。答覆若不足夠，法庭可下令作進一步答覆，或允許另一方就答覆是否足夠對宣誓作答的被質詢人作出盤問：第25號命令第5(2)條規則。 |
