释义 | 拘押 Imprisonment for failing to pay a fine or for contempt of court. In Hong Kong, where magistrates order the payment of fine or the payment of money, the defendant shall be imprisoned for a certain time unless such fine or sum shall be paid: Magistrates Ordinance (Cap 227) s 55. Commitment is distinguished from a sentence of imprisonment in that the term of imprisonment have a fixed period. The scale of imprisonment for non-payment of money: s 68. The person committed may be discharged from custody before the term expires by payment of fine or sum adjudged to be paid: s 55.
