释义 | 傭金經紀人 1. An agent who receives another’s goods, chattels or merchandise for sale, exchange or to otherwise dispose of and who is accordingly compensated or remunerated for his services by the owner. Any person who receives and handles produce on a commission: Agricultural Products (Marketing) Ordinance (Cap 277); Agricultural Products (Marketing) Regulations (Cap 277A). 2. Synonymous with ‘factor’, being an agent who has physical possession of the owner’s goods, is thus entrusted with their possession and can deal freely with them, often selling them in his own name: Factors Ordinance (Cap 48). Analogous to a ‘mercantile agent’: Sale of Goods Ordinance (Cap 26) s 27(3). To be contrasted with a ‘broker’ who assumes a similar role to the factor but acts as a mere intermediary without control or possession of the property.
