释义	大麻 Any plant, or any part of any plant, of the genus cannabis which contains tetrahydro-cannabinol and the viable seeds of any plant of the genus cannabis: Dangerous Drugs Ordinance (Cap 134) s 2 pt 1 sch 1. It means the flowering or fruiting tops of any plant of the genus cannabis from which resin has not been extracted: R v Goodchild [1977] 2 All ER 163. It is an addictive drug which acts on the central nervous system, often producing pleasurable excitement, hallucinations, distortion of the sense of time and space, followed by lethargy and sleep. Cultivation of and dealing in plant of the genus cannabis is prohibited: Dangerous Drugs Ordinance (Cap 134) s 9. In Hong Kong, cannabis finds it way into the market in three forms, they are herbal cannabis, cannabis resin and cannabis oil: A-G v Tuen Shui Ming [1995] 2 HKC 798. Also known as ‘Indian hemp’, ‘marijuana’, ‘hashish’, ‘cannabis sativa’.
