单词 Commercial law
Traditionally, that area of the law which deals with activities related to the supply of goods and services in the course of trade. There is no consistent approach to what constitutes ‘commercial law’, but it can embrace, though is not limited to, the law merchant (as now exemplified, inter alia, by the Sale of Goods Ordinance (Cap 26)), personal property, contract law, agency, aspects of property law, negotiable instruments (the Bills of Exchange Ordinance (Cap 19)), company and partnership law (Companies Ordinance (Cap 32) and Partnership Ordinance (Cap 38)), banking (Banking Ordinance (Cap 155)), international sales and international trade, and commercial credit. Under English law, no comprehensive delineation exists of the multiple facets of commercial law, as contrasted with the United States which since 1952, has continually updated its Uniform Commercial Code applicable in most states.
