General agent |
1. An agent who has authority to do acts within the ordinary course of the agent’s business or profession, or who is authorised to act generally in transaction of a particular kind or incidental to a particular business. 2. An agent who is given general authority to represent the principal in all respects or in all respects in a particular sector: Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong, Vol 1(2), Agency [15.001]. The distinction between general and ostensible authority is now of limited utility, as the doctrine of apparent or ostensible authority is usually explained by reference to estoppel. See also Agency; Agent; Apparent authority; Estoppel; Special agent. 1. 另見 Agency; Agent; Apparent authority; Estoppel; Special agent。 |
