单词 Ad litem
Lat – for or concerning a law suit. Ad litem refers to the type of limited grant or appointment by the court when it is necessary for a person to act for another in a particular legal action. For example, an administrator ad litem representing the deceased estate in a personal injury action arising from the accident in which the deceased died: Yau Kun Lam, (An Infant), by her next friend Jack Lam v Tung and Yeung Wai Hung (dec’d) [1964] HKLR 157. Such appointments are now rare as it is more usual to appoint a representative pursuant to The Rules of the High Court (Cap 4A) O 15 r 15. See also Administrator: Family provision; Guardian ad litem; Limited grant; Next friend; Tutor.
另見 Administrator: Family provision; Guardian ad litem; Limited grant; Next friend; Tutor。
