| 释义 | 要項 In criminal law, in relation to an allegation that a statement is false or misleading, a particular which is of significance and not trivial or inconsequential: Crimes Ordinance (Cap 200) s 36; Theft Ordinance (Cap 210) s 19(1)(b). A statement will be false in a material particular if the falsity is relevant to the purpose for which the statement was made, that is if it may be taken into account by the person to whom the statement is made: Kong Sau Mei v Director of Immigration [1999] 1 HKC 174.
