| 释义 | 案件摘要 1. The set of papers given to a barrister retained to appear, advise, or draft documents in a matter. The brief comprises observations by the solicitor who has retained the barrister together with all important documents relating to the matter. A brief is required for every distinct piece of work for which a barrister is separately briefed: Code of Conduct of the Bar, para 20. As to return of briefs: paras 61-66; Building Authority v Tam Chung Ching Denis [1997] 3 HKC 260 (HC). 2. To retain a barrister to represent a client in a matter.
