释义	高血糖症 A state of excessive blood sugar, controlled in diabetics by injections of insulin. Hyperglycaemia can cause mental confusion and may ultimately result in coma. The effect on the person may be such that he or she lacks the mental state to be held to be criminally responsible for his or her actions. For example, it may constitute a disease of the mind for the purposes of the defence of insanity: R v Hennessy [1989] 2 All ER 9, 89 Cr App Rep 10 (CA).
