| 释义 | 區域法院 Established since 1953 by the District Ordinance (Cap 336) as a court of record, with civil and criminal jurisdiction as have been conferred upon it by the District Court Ordinance and any other enactment: District Court Ordinance (Cap 336) s 3. There are four district courts in the Hong Kong SAR. District Courts consist of at least two district judges who are appointed by the Chief Executive by instrument under the Public Seal: s 4(1), (2). District Court also has the equity jurisdiction to determine the cases regarding trusts, administration of estate, inheritance and fraud: s 37. Regarding the criminal jurisdiction, District Courts deal with summary indictment offences, ICAC cases, cases transferred from Magistrates and some serious crimes cases except murder, manslaughter, rape and armed robbery and the sentence decided should not be more than seven years. District Courts also have jurisdiction to hear the appeals against the decisions of stamp duty with single judge. Apart from this, District Court also has the matrimonial jurisdiction to exercise considerable matrimonial jurisdiction in its capacity as the family court.
