释义	河岸權 Lat – riparius – belonging to a river bank. A common law right of the owner of the land fronting a river or stream or through which a river or stream flows, to enjoy and use the water naturally flowing through the bed of the river or stream. The entitlement only extends to the ordinary uses of the particular tenement and does not confer rights to use water for unrelated purposes: McCartney v London Dairy and Lough Swilly Railway [1904] AC 301; Attwood v Llay Main Collieries [1926] Ch 444. Riparian rights can be conferred only on those who have interests in land adjoining a river, and not on those who only have a chattel, such as a jetty, on the foreshore which does not form part of the land: Tate and Lyle Industries Ltd v Greater London Council [1983] 2 AC 509, 1 All ER 1159 (HL).
