| 释义 | 超額保險單 A contract of insurance in which the minimum liability amount of claim is equal to the maximum liability amount in the primary or underlying cover. Typically, an excess policy will provide cover above insurance taken out by the insured or by another person who obtained the insurance with the insured’s authority or whose conduct the insured has ratified. An excess insurer is usually liable for costs and expenses incurred in an indemnified claim only to the extent proportional to its share of liability to indemnify the loss: Greyhound Corp v Chester & Orion Insurance Co Ltd [1975] 1 Lloyd’s Rep 677.
