单词 Split bill of exchange
A bill of exchange which has been produced in a set of multiple copies, the various indorsed parts being given to different persons by the holder of more than one part. When bills are used to finance international trade, as most are, it is the practice of Hong Kong banks to issue bills in a set, ie the same bill is issued in duplicate or, more usually, in triplicate. Each is signed by the drawer and numbered separately but all make up one bill only. Where the holder of a set indorses two or more parts to different persons, he is liable on every such part, and every indorser subsequent to him is liable on the part he has himself indorsed as if the said parts were separate bills: Bills of Exchange Ordinance (Cap 19) s 71(2). See also Bill of exchange; Holder; Indorsement; Indorser; Set.
另見 Bill of exchange; Holder; Indorsement; Indorser; Set。
