释义 | 干預行為 In negligence, a factor intervening between the defendant’s conduct and the occurrence of damage, apparently causing or contributing to the result which may be sufficient in law to break the chain of causation: The Oropesa [1943] 1 All ER 211 (CA); A-G v Yiu Yun [1990] 2 HKC 238 (CA). An independent act of a third person which the defendant could not reasonably foresee: Lo Ngau v Dodwell Shipping Ltd [1977-1979] HKC 245 (DC); Leung Sin Fai v Perfect World Co Ltd & Ors [1998] 2 HKLRD 115 (CFI). An ineffective intervention may also lead to liability if it leaves the plaintiff in a worse condition: East Suffolk Rivers Catchment Board v Kent [1940] 4 All ER 524, [1941] AC 74 (HL).
