释义 | 大使/代表 A person appointed by a state to represent its interests in a foreign country. An ambassador is the highest ranking diplomatic representative, and resides in the foreign country: Regulations of the People’s Republic of China Concerning Diplomatic Privileges and Immunities 1986 art 28(1), (5); Promulgation of National Laws 1997 (Cap 2402) sch 4. An ambassador and his or her family and diplomatic staff are entitled to diplomatic privileges and the protection of the host country, and to immunity from civil and criminal prosecutions and taxation: Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961 arts 31, 37(2), 37(3).
