| 释义 | 黑傑克牌戲 A card game played by two or more players and a banker where cards are ascribed the value on their face, royal cards a value of 10, and aces a value of one or eleven at the holder’s option, and each player attempts to obtain a hand that totals as close to 21 as possible without exceeding 21. If one or more players finish closer to 21 than the banker, or if the banker exceeds 21, then the winning players divide the pool of money bet on the game. As the chances are not equally unfavourable to all the players and banker, it is a ‘game’ under the Gambling Ordinance (Cap 148) s 2. The playing of any game for winning in money or other property could amount to unlawful gambling, unless the accused could bring himself or herself within the exceptions under the Gambling Ordinance (Cap 148) s 3. The game acquired the casino name of ‘blackjack’ when a casino began to offer double the winnings to players holding the ace of spades and either blackjack. Also known as ‘Twenty-one’ or ‘Pontoon’.
