释义	官方儲備 Reserves of foreign currencies, gold and other precious metals, held by government. In Hong Kong, they were held by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. The official reserves serve as a cushion against sudden falls in export earnings or to use to defend exchange rates. The level of reserves for a place depends on the size of its imports and the volatility of its exports.
