A clause inserted in a charterparty or bill of lading, most especially those relating to trading in the United States which did not ratify the International Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules of Law Respecting: (1) Collisions Between Vessels; and (2) Assistance and Salvage at Sea 1910, in order to ensure that the ‘both to blame’ principle is to be applied.
