| 释义 | 違反諾言 Formerly an action at common law for a breach of the contract mutually entered into between a man and a woman that they will marry each other. The failure to perform a promise, undertaking or engagement to marry formerly gave rise to an entitlement to recover damages against the person responsible for the failure: Cheung Suk Man v So Shek Keung [1965] HKLR 485. This action was abolished on 7 October 1971: Law Amendment and Reform (Consolidation) Ordinance (Cap 23) s 23.
