单词 Curfew
释义 宵禁
A restriction on movement of a person requiring that person to remain indoors during specified hours, typically at night. A curfew may be imposed as a condition of a good behaviour bond. In Hong Kong, curfew is sometimes imposed by magistrates as a condition of a probation order, when the offender is young and it is recommended by the probation officer, with a view to facilitate the rehabilitation of the offender. The Chief Executive may, if he is satisfied that it is necessary in the interests of public order so to do, by order direct that, within such area and during such hours as may be specified in the curfew order, every person, or, as the case may be, every member of any class of persons specified in the curfew order, shall, save under and in accordance with a permit issued by the Commissioner of Police, remain indoors: Public Order Ordinance (Cap 245) s 31(1). See also Bail; Probation.
