| 释义 | 本地(話) Local language. The Cantonese dialect of Chinese spoken in Hong Kong. It is usually a term used by the police or the court. In Hong Kong, Cantonese is the dialect spoken by most of the Chinese population. However, there are in Hong Kong speakers of other Chinese dialects, such as Mandarin, Hakka, Chiu-Chau/Chiu-Chow, Fukienese. It was held that it is elementary justice that an accused must be afforded adequate facilities for effective communication with the tribunal trying him. A conviction may be quashed on the facts the accused pleaded guilty to a charge explained to him in ‘punti’, where it is far from certain that the accused has a proper understanding of ‘punti’ and there is a very real possibility that the plea may be entered as a result of a misunderstanding: R v Ng Lau Shing [1980] 1 HKC 461. 本地語言。香港使用的廣東話口頭用語，是中文的一種方言。 警方或法庭通常會使用此等用語。 廣東話是大部分香港華人使用的口頭方言。 但亦有香港華人使用普通話、客家話、潮州話及福建話等方言。 一般認為被告在法庭進行審訊時，他／她應獲給予充分的設施以作有效的傳達。如被告事實上就以「本地(語／話) 」向他／她解釋的控罪作出有罪的答辯，如有關被告不能以「本地(語／話)」適當地理解，並非常可能由於誤解而登錄有關的答辯，則可推翻有關的裁定：R v Ng Lau Shing [1980] 1 HKC 461。 |
