| 释义 | 快速合約 In building and construction, a contractual mechanism whereby the contract is let prior to completion of design. The design work is carried out contemporaneously with building work on other sections of the project in order to enable the project to be carried out in a shorter time; thus a fast track contract can be contrasted with a traditional head contract, where the proprietor engages the contractor after completion of the design. The difficulty with a fast track contract is that a contractor may be undertaking to construct something which has not been finally designed, giving rise to possible uncertainty as to the scope of the works and consequent uncertainty as to cost. Also known as ‘deferred let contract’.
