释义 | 第一按揭 A mortgage granted prior in time to the grant of subsequent mortgages by the same mortgagor over the same property. A first mortgage will usually take priority over subsequent mortgages. However, where registration systems are in place in relation to the mortgaged property, a first mortgagee may lose this priority by failing to register interest in the property before registration of an interest by a later mortgagee: Land Registration Ordinance (Cap 128) s 3; Companies Ordinance (Cap 32) s 80.
