| 释义 | 第三者汽車保險 A contract of insurance where the insured is covered by an authorised insurer in respect of any liability which may be incurred by the insured or classes of insured as are specified in the policy in respect of the death of, or bodily injury to any person caused by or arising out of the use of the motor vehicle on a road and arising out of one event for an amount not less than that as may be prescribed: The Motor Vehicles (Third Party Risks) Ordinance (Cap 272) s 6(1)(b). In Hong Kong, third party motor insurance is compulsory: s 4(1). An insurance policy is not effective for the purposes of compulsory insurance unless it is issued by an authorised insurer: s 6(1)(a).
