| 释义 | 保險人 A person carrying on insurance business, but it does not include Lloyd’s (the society of underwriters known in the United Kingdom as Lloyd’s): Insurance Companies Ordinance (Cap 41) s 2(1). An insurer is allowed to carry on such class(es) of insurance business if it is authorised by the Insurance Authority. At common law, a person or body who agrees in consideration for premium paid, to make good a loss that an assured has suffered on the happening of specified events: Prudential Insurance Co v IRC [1904] 2 KB 658.
