In civil procedure, combining several causes of action (for example negligence and breach of contract) or several parties (whether as plaintiffs and defendants) in a single proceeding: Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong, Vol 5(1), 2000 Reissue, Civil Procedure [90.0280], [90.0281], [90.0233]. 2. In contract law, the combination of two or more documents to find all the terms of a contract. Joinder is possible so long as the documents are part of the same transaction and are more or less contemporaneous: Record v Bell [1991] 4 All ER 471, 1 WLR 853.
