| 释义 | 戰爭罪行 An infringement of the international laws of war. War crimes include: violating the laws or customs of war; mistreating prisoners of war; murdering, ill-treating, or deporting as slave labour civilians in occupied territory; killing hostages; plundering public or private property; destroying cities, towns or villages; and causing any other devastation not justified by military necessity: Charter of the International Military Tribunal 1945 art 6. It also includes a crime against the peace and a crime against humanity. Universal jurisdiction is applicable to war crimes. The defence of superior orders is not applicable to war crimes: art 8.
