| 释义 | 地圖 A two dimensional representation of part of the earth’s surface, usually printed on paper. On any given map, the representations are to a common scale. On small scale maps covering large areas of the earth’s surface, different projections may be used to take account of the curve of the earth’s surface. Maps may be prepared for different purposes, and will contain different information about the same area depending on the purpose to be served. For maritime navigation purposes, maps, usually known as ‘charts’, contain data showing in great detail, depths, channels, landmarks, hazards to navigation, navigational aids, and other useful information. Similar charts convey appropriate information for air navigation. Such maps are used in the preparation of a course for any particular voyage and in determining the location of the vessel or aircraft on that voyage. Road maps and maps showing transport routes are often designed for the assistance of passengers. Intellectual property - A graphic work or other representation of geographical, astronomical, or similar information. A map may be protected by copyright as an artistic work: Copyright Ordinance (Cap 528) s 5.
