| 释义 | 海上研訊 An investigation into casualties affecting ships registered in Hong Kong and any witness of such casualties who is found in Hong Kong. The Chief Executive will appoint a marine court, which consists of a judge, district judge or magistrate, with the assistance of two or more assessors with the relevant skill or knowledge. Inquiry may also be carried out into charges of incompetence or misconduct on the part of masters, mates or engineers of ships: Merchant Shipping Ordinance (Cap 281) ss 52, 53. The investigation is carried out in accordance with the Merchant Shipping (Marine Courts) Regulations (Cap 281G).
