| 释义 | 少數人士 A group of people whose characteristics (for example ethnicity, race, religion, language or gender) distinguish them from the majority of the population. It is often used to describe ethnic groups. See also Rights of minorities; Racial group. Conflict of laws - A group which is different from the majority of the population within a state. A minority may be characterised as linguistic, religious, ethnic or national; being numerically inferior to the rest of the population; having no controlling influence over that population; possessing distinctive ethnic, religious, or linguistic traits; and maintaining a sense of solidarity aimed at preserving its culture, traditions, religion, or language. The Sub-Commission on Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities, and the International Human Rights Committee protect and promote various minority rights recognised in the growing body of human rights law.
