The nomination, selection, or assignment of a person to perform a function or enjoy a right. Employment - Nomination or assignment of a person to an office, post, or function. A power conferred by an ordinance to make appointments includes the power to re-appoint and to reinstate: Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance (Cap 1) s 42(a). Any appointment made under an ordinance may be declared to have effect as from the date upon which the person appointed in fact began to exercise the powers and perform the duties of his appointment: s 47. n. |
