職業健康及安全 Abbr – OHS. The principle that workers should be safe and secure in their place of work. It includes matters relating to the physiological and psychological needs and well being of persons engaged in occupations, work-related death and trauma, and rehabilitation. Legislation has aimed to establish a system to achieve and maintain health and safety improvements in workplaces, while imposing criminal sanctions on employers who infringe the standards prescribed: Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance (Cap 509).
