释义 | 出票人、製造者 A person who creates something or otherwise brings it into existence. Bills of exchange - A person who signs a promissory note to pay on demand or at a fixed or determinable future time a sum certain in money to, or to the order of, a specified person or to bearer: Bills of Exchange Ordinance (Cap 19) s 3(1). The liability of the maker of a note is on due presentation, the bill shall be accepted and paid according to its tenor, and if dishonoured he will compensate the holder or any indorsee who is compelled to pay it: s 55(1)(a). The maker is precluded from denying to a holder in due course the existence of the payee and his capacity to indorse: s 55(1)(b). Intellectual property - In copyright law, in relation to a sound recording, the person who owned the record upon which the first record embodying that recording was produced. The ‘maker’ of a cinematograph film is read as the person by whom the arrangements necessary for the making of the film were undertaken.
