释义 | 投遞/郵寄 Lat – after. To send a letter. In contract law, where the offeror has required that acceptance be by post, that acceptance is deemed to have been made when the letter of acceptance is posted: Household Fire and Carriage Insurance Co (Ltd) v Grant (1879) LR 4 Ex D 216 (CA). A letter is not ‘posted’ until it is put in a Post Office letter box: Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong, Vol 7, Contract [115.075]. The delivery of a letter to a postman outside the course of his ordinary duties is not a posting of the letter, nor will such a letter be assumed to be in the lawful custody of the Post Office as soon as the postman enters the post office: Re London and Northern Bank, ex p Jones [1900] 1 Ch 220.
