Investigations made or questions raised before signing of a contract. In the contract of sale of land, preliminary inquiries are usually made in the first place of the vendor and then of the authority concerned. There is no set form for these inquiries. The purchaser’s solicitor should write setting out the interest of the purchaser in the land, and asking appropriate questions. See also Contract; Pre-contract work.
