释义	贈與人／授權人 A person who gives or bestows something. Equity - The person who makes a gift or creates a power, the donative intent of the donor is crucial in making a gift: Overseas Trust Bank Ltd v Lee See Shing & Anor [1999] 2 HKLRD H17. In relation of the enduring power of attorney, it means the person giving the power: Enduring Powers of Attorney Ordinance (Cap 501) s 2. The donor must comply with certain formalities to ensure that title to the property passes to the recipient of the gift (the donee). Where the gift is a chattel, it is usually necessary for the donor to deliver the gift and for the donee to take delivery: Cochrane v Moore [1886-90] All ER Rep 731, (1890) 25 QBD 57. Where the property is land or property whose nature requires registration, the donor must register the property in the name of the donee in order for the gift to be complete at common law. In certain circumstances, a donor who has not completed the registration procedures to pass legal title may be held to have completed a gift in equity, and therefore be bound in conscience to complete formalities to transfer legal title to the donee.
