| 释义 | 法 Law. A term derived from Confucianism. It is used in contradistinction to li (fittingness or propriety). In Confucian theory, it is better for the ruling class to govern by li than by fa. However, recourse to fa may be had if li has proven to be inadequate: Confucius The Analects.
