| 释义 | 保有形式／任職期間 Lat – tenere - to hold, possess, or occupy. Education and research - 1. Holding a post, office or position. 2. An arrangement by which an academic holds a university appointment that is not subject to review by the university authorities; untenured academic appointments are subject to such review. See also Public service. Real property - The holding of land by a tenant under his lord. The term is only appropriate where the feudal relation of lord and tenant can exist. In the past, there were four main types of tenure: (1) military tenure; (2) spiritual tenure; (3) socage or freehold tenure; and (4) villeing or copyhold tenure, but now only freehold tenure remains in England. As the feudal system never existed in Hong Kong, the word is used only in its colloquial meaning of ownership: Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong, Vol 16, 2001 Reissue, Land [230.0042]; Nield Hong Kong Land Law (2nd Ed, Longman) ch 1 pp 18-20.
