释义 | 單方面的 One sided; involving only one party. In international law, a state is entitled to take unilateral acts within its capacity, such as recognising a state or government. A unilateral act proclaimed by the appropriate authority of a state may be binding. For example, the unilateral declarations separately made by the President, foreign minister, and defence minister of France, to discontinue atmospheric nuclear testing in the Pacific, were regarded as binding: Nuclear Test Case (Australia v France) 1974 ICJ Rep 253.
