释义 | 使命 1. The business or purpose with which an agent is charged. 2. The outpost of an agent. Conflict of laws - 1. The premises and personnel comprising a sending state’s representation in the country of a receiving state. A mission includes a diplomatic and a consular mission. Its functions include representing the sending state in the receiving state; protecting the interests of the sending state; accessing by lawful means conditions and developments in the receiving state; and promoting friendly relations: Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961 art 3. International law governs the relations of a mission to the laws and jurisdiction of a receiving state, and sets out the immunity applicable to its premises and personnel. A mission forms part of the receiving state for both criminal and civil proceedings: R v Turnbull, ex p Petroff (1971) 17 FLR 438; Radwan v Radwan [1973] Fam 24. 2. The establishment of foreign consular and other official or semi-official missions in the Hong Kong SAR requires the approval of the Central People’s Government: Basic Law art 157. Diplomatic and consular missions in the Hong Kong SAR are subject to national laws listed under the Basic Law Annex III, namely the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China Concerning Diplomatic Privileges and Immunities. A religious institution set up to preach and teach the principles of Christianity and to care for the needy. These activities were conducted by missionaries. 2. A religious society or association the purposes of which include furthering the spiritual, cultural, or economic welfare of people, including a trustee empowered to hold land on behalf of such a society or organisation: for example, Basel Evangelical Missionary Society Incorporation Ordinance (Cap 1002).
