释义 | 撞後逃逸 Colloquially, the offence, by the driver of a vehicle, of failing to stop after being involved in an accident, especially one which has caused injury. It is an offence for the driver of a vehicle to fail to stop where he or she has been involved in an accident causing death or injury to any person or causing damage to any property not in or on that vehicle: Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap 374) s 56(5). The duty to report is absolute, and failure to report is not excused by the fact that the police may have been informed of the accident by other means: Dawson v Winter (1932) 149 LT 18 (DC).
