| 释义 | 醫院管理局 An authority, established under Hospital Authority Ordinance (Cap 113), which manages and controls public hospitals; advises the Government of the needs of the public for hospital services and of the resources required to meet those needs; manages and develops the public hospital system; establishs, and assists others to establish, public hospitals: ss 3, 4. It is in the form of a body corporate, having perpetual succession and capable of suing and being sued: s 3(1), (2). The members of the Authority are appointed by the Chief Executive: s 3(3). The Authority is not regarded as a servant or agent of the Government: s 3(6). The Authority has the powers, amongst others, to enter into, and carry out any agreement with the Government or any other person for the management and control by the Authority of any property, any employee or the Hospital Services Department; to acquire and hold property of any description; to enter into, carry out, assign or accept the assignment of, vary or rescind, any contract, agreement or other obligation; to establish and maintain such hospital services as the Authority considers necessary or desirable; to charge fees for the provision of hospital services: s 5.
