释义 | 過期支票 A cheque which bears no date or a cheque which is more than six months old. When a cheque becomes stale, the duty and authority of the drawee bank to pay the cheque are terminated. It is the practice of banks to refuse to pay on a cheque whose date is more than six months old, called a stale cheque, however, the law does not prohibit the presentation of the cheque after this period: Lee Man Ching Mandy v Chiu Hing [2001] 4 HKC 280 (CA).
