释义 | 賠償 1. A reward, compensations, remuneration, or payment in exchange for something, such as goods or services rendered. 2. To reward or punish; to make amends to another for their loss or injury sustained, by way of compensation. Recompense for damage to a chattel is made by monetary compensation to reimburse the owner for the loss of the value of his or her property. The value is prima facie the cost of repair or reinstatement. In determining the amount required to recompense the owner of the property, the court takes into account the diminution in the property value. Damages are usually assessed according to the difference in value of the property before and after it was damaged.
