| 释义 | 裁定無罪的指示 An instruction given by a judge to the jury to return a verdict of not guilty. If the judge is satisfied that the evidence in the case does not provide a sufficient basis for a properly directed jury to convict, the judge may direct them to acquit: R v Galbraith [1981] 2 All ER 1060, 1 WLR 1039 (CA). When considering the reliability of identification evidence, a judge should withdraw the case from the jury and direct an acquittal if the quality of the identification is too poor: R v Turnbull [1976] 3 All ER 549, [1977] QB 224 (CA); R v Dinh Van Duong & Anor [1996] 2 HKC 604 (CA); HKSAR v Chui Chi Wai [1999] 3 HKC 225 (CA).
