| 释义 | 作廢 1. To cancel or not to put into operation a judgment, order, decision, verdict, finding or proceedings. The court may set aside an award or order if it was made in the absence of a party or defendant, on his application: Small Claims Tribunal Ordinance (Cap 338) s 32A, Labour Tribunal Ordinance (Cap 25) s 21A. The court may set the award aside where an arbitrator or umpire has misconducted himself or the proceedings, or an arbitration or award has been improperly procured: Arbitration Ordinance (Cap 341) s 25(2). A decision of a superior court is valid and enforceable until it is set aside. If the order is set aside, the order itself ceases to have any effect. 2. To reserve an area or a sum of money for different purposes or for different persons. For example, the board shall set aside a reserve fund which shall be kept as a reserve against losses incurred from loans made by the credit union: Credit Unions Ordinance (Cap 119) s 45.
