释义	律師 A class of legal practitioner. There are, generally speaking, two classes of legal practitioners in Hong Kong, namely barristers and solicitors. Solicitors are persons admitted before the Court of First Instance to practise as such: Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance (Cap 1) s 3. They are officers of the Court (Legal Practitioners Ordinance (Cap 159) s 3(2)) and may exercise functions of commissioner for oaths (s 7A(1)). Unlike barristers, solicitors are permitted direct client access, may operate in partnership and whose activities are not restricted to advice work, litigation and advocacy. The qualifications for admission and practising as solicitors are respectively governed by the Legal Practitioners Ordinance (Cap 159) ss 4, 7.
