| 释义 | 法定補償計劃 A scheme whereby the legislation providing financial support or relief in the form of compensation for losses suffered. For example, the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance provides if in any employment, personal injury or death arising out of and in the course of the employment is caused to an employee, his employer shall be liable to pay compensation in accordance with the Ordinance: Employees’ Compensation Ordinance (Cap 282) s 5. In relation to a person who is killed or suffers personal injuries in a traffic accident, his or her dependants may claim from the Traffic Accident Victims (Assistance Fund) Ordinance (Cap 229) s 3. The Investor Compensation Fund has been established under the Securities and Futures Ordinance to compensate a clients of an intermediary who sustain a loss by reason of a default committed by the intermediary or any of his associated persons in connection with specified securities or futures contracts: Securities and Futures Ordinance (Cap 571) s 236. Persons who as a result of fire, flood, tempest, typhoon or other occurrence which has caused suffering or loss to an extent which, in the opinion of the Emergency Relief Fund Committee, merits relief, may be given grants and loan under Emergency Relief Fund Ordinance (Cap 1103) s 4.
